Julio Cruz is a results-driven, innovative, and determined engineering professional with over 20 years of experience providing valuable solutions on hardware, firmware, software, and mechanical engineering.


He is currently the founder and Director of JC Technology Way, a Taiwan-based company that designs and manufactures complex systems. Julio's previous experience includes working for Smartmatic, a multinational firm specializing in building and implementing electronic voting systems. At Smartmatic, he led a team of up to 15 and was involved in building and deploying voting systems for elections in Brazil, Venezuela, Philippines, and the LA County in the USA.


Before Smartmatic, Julio held an Aggregate Professor role at Simon Bolivar University in Venezuela, where he lectured nine courses in electronic and production engineering. Prior to this, he researched at the University of Rennes 1, where he worked in the Signal and Image Processing Laboratory (LTSI). Here he designed and deployed monitoring systems, optimized algorithms, and supported the design of new products.


As a well-rounded business leader equipped and driven to handle and overcome business challenges, Julio has provided strategic contributions to the organizations he worked for.


Julio counts with several patents for stimulation devices, book collaborations, and papers. He is also a technical expert in various hardware, software, firmware, data acquisition systems, bench tools, and more.


Julio Cruz's academic background includes a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, a Ph.D. in Bio-engineering, an MBA, and several postdoctoral studies in France.


Julio Cruz currently lives with his Japanese wife Mari and his two kids, Julia and Jessica. His hobbies include road and mountain bike competitions. He is also multilingual, speaking Spanish, English, French, and Mandarin.
